Converging-Diverging Nozzle
This simulation was one I ran in ANSYS to observe the effects of a converging-diverging nozzle on a compressible fluid (air in this case). The geometry of the nozzle was modeled such that sonic flow would occur at the choke point (based on area ratio equation below) and therefore cause supersonic flow downstream. The mesh was refined at the choke point and downstream to accurately capture mach number contours. The mesh convergence study was also included to validate the results.
