Gyroscope

One day, one of my coworkers in the machine shop showed me one of the coolest pieces he made: a gyroscope made of steel and brass. I was so impressed that I wanted to see if I could make one as well. I collected the material, modeled the pieces, and generated all of the CNC code I would need for the CNC mill and the CNC lathe. The whole process was very interesting and introduced me to some advanced machining techniques. I was ecstatic with the visual results and the smoothness of the gyroscope rotation. I’ll let the GIF below speak for itself!

The full machining process I followed is captured excellently in this 2-part series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaRY-58a60A
